About us

The Hemato-Oncology Research Group, HemoRes, studies the molecular and genetic basis of childhood leukemias and develops novel mechanism-based targeted therapies. We aim at deciphering the mechanisms that initiate, evolve and propagate acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL) by using various genomic analyses on patient samples (WGS, RNAseq, single cell genomics), molecular and cellular biology tools in the wet lab and zebrafish models of acute leukemia. We think that detailed understanding of leukemogenesis is crucial to guide therapy in patients with increased risk of relapse. Our secondary aim is to develop new therapeutic approaches that could reduce chemotherapeutic burden of leukemia patients incurred by current therapies.
