Post doctoral researcher

Liina Sointu is a postdoctoral researcher currently working in Dwellers in Agile Cities  at the Faculty of Social Sciences in the University of Tampere. Her research interests include social policy and sociology of care and ageing in the context of the Nordic welfare state. In her current research she explores participation as a negotiated process between older people and their urban environment through the analysis of spending time with the city in old age. Her methodological interests include sensory methodology as she strives for methods that enable social sciences to study the mundane, concrete and embodied experiences and meanings as well as the practices that people engage in as part of their everyday lives. Overall, as a researcher she is intrigued by all things mundane.
