The guiding principle of the Work Research Centre is sustainable work. Research is organised into five research streams.

Research enables understanding of themes related to work from the point of view of the individuals, groups, communities and society. The Work Research Centre carries out both empirical and theoretical research using various methods and data, such as cross-sectional and longitudinal research settings by utilizing for example statistical data sets, interviews, participatory observations and video recordings. Research assisted project development and action research are also used as methods of collecting data.
